PLAY BALL

ABOUT:

I took this collection of photos in the midst of a bout of nostalgia. I played softball as a child. When I look at this collection, I can literally smell the clay, hear the crack of the ball, and feel the ball hitting my glove and feel the adrenaline in the midst of a game.

LAKE ASBURY

ABOUT:

I was a girl scout as a child and some of my most fond memories were made at Camp Dorothy Thomas. While volunteering to help at a local youth camp, I took the opportunity to take some photos which strongly reminded me of my scouting days.

THE LANDING

ABOUT:

I remember visiting Jacksonville’s landing for the first time. It was a cool day and The Landing was alive with people enjoying a Saturday evening. While walking down the sidewalk, I remember looking up and seeing this view. I loved all of the lines and angles that I saw. I quickly snapped a picture and I’m glad I did. I now have a little piece of history now that The Landing is gone.

ABSTRACT PHOTOGRAPHY

ABOUT:

Abstract photography is my absolute favorite type of photography. It forces me to look amongst the mundane things in my surroundings and find beauty. Perhaps the reason I’m drawn towards it is because that’s what I strive to do in life: find beauty in the mundane.
