EBBS AND FLOWS

ABOUT:

One of the only things that one can absolutely be sure of in life is… change. You can be sure that life will change as constantly as the ebbs and flows of the seas. With change, people will come and go; some are meant to stay a while, but others are just there for a moment. This client had cherished this photo of their son since it was taken. However, it was the only professional photo they had taken of themself along with their child. The photo was taken with someone who had not been in their life for a very long time. The client requested that the photo would only have themself and their child pictured. I was happy to oblige and help the client to turn back time and digitally recreate a very special moment with their son.

REBECCA

ABOUT:

This was a personal project. I took this photograph at a location called Boneyard Beach just West of Jacksonville, Florida. During my visit, I couldn’t help but focus on how eerily beautiful the location was. I kept imagining how it would look on a foggy morning. With those images in my head, I thought of my favorite book: Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. In the book, a crime takes place on the coast of Cornwall, England in the 1930’s. When I got home from visiting Boneyard Beach, I just HAD to have a bit of fun and manipulate this photo into what I had imagined the scenes of Rebecca to be.

ABOUT

This was edit was a volunteer project. The client wanted to individualize a very heartbreaking moment. They wanted all extra people to be removed. This edit definitely had it’s challenges. The photo was very low resolution, as it was taken from a mobile phone. In addition, the extra people the client wanted removed took a up a very large percentage of the photo. It was a very tedious project, but every second was worth it. It made my heart full knowing that I could at least be a tiny bit of help in the midst of a very difficult time of heartbreak.
